I headed to the iconic Uluru in Alice Springs. This ancient monolith, rich in cultural significance, offered a stunning backdrop for reflection and connection with nature. As I stood in the presence of Uluru, I felt a profound sense of tranquility and awe, understanding the deep spiritual connection the Indigenous people have with this land.

I spent my days exploring the surrounding landscapes, engaging in guided walks that shared the stories and traditions of the Anangu people. Watching the sunset over Uluru was nothing short of magical; the colours danced across the sky, igniting a sense of gratitude within me.

Highly recommend

Field of Light Uluru:

British artist Bruce Munro is best known for immersive large-scale light-based installations inspired largely by his interest in shared human experience. Recording ideas and images in sketchbooks has been his practice for over 30 years. By this means he has captured his responses to stimuli such as music, literature, science, and the world around him for reference, reflection, and subject matter. As a result Munro produces both monumental temporary experiential artworks as well as intimate story-pieces.

Ayers Rock experience

Uluru Segway Tours:

We went to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park where we embarked on a guided Segway adventure. We saw the Mutitjulu Waterhole at the base of the rock.

This really is spectacular. We stopped along the way and took in Uluru's magnificent sites, learning along the way about Anangu culture and this unique desert environment. We immersed ourselves further in Anangu culture on the Mala Walk, where our guide took us through the tjukuritja of the Mala Tjukurpa (creation story) to gain a deeper understanding of this ancestral story.

Wintjiri Wiru Sunset Dinner:

We took a gentle evening stroll through the desert along an elevated walkway until we reached the open-air theatre, set upon a dune top. We were greeted with delicious cocktails, infused with native ingredients while taking in the incredible views. We then watched on in awe as the sun slowly sets over Uluru and Kata Tjuta.

We had a delicious gourmet dinner hamper where native ingredients are combined with modern culinary techniques to create a masterpiece for the palette.

With the heart of Australia as the backdrop, a story passed on for thousands of generations, now passed onto the audience.

The ancient Mala story was re-told like never before with ground-breaking technology. Choreographed drones, lasers, and projections will take flight, lighting up the night sky in a modern, artistic expression of an ancient, Anangu story.
