The week that was, was a lovely dive into art world. We visited the Powerhouse Museum (free entry is always a winner) to see the Catalina flying boat Frigate Bird II Aircraft. The journey represented the first crossing of the South Pacific Ocean. Departing from Sydney’s Rose Bay, the aircraft made many stops including the Pacific Islands of Noumea, Fiji, Samoa, Cook Islands, Tahiti, Mangareva, French Polynesia and Easter Island, before reaching Chile.

We visited Ikea to stock on some more office supplies as well as indulge in some delicious lunch. On exiting the building we noticed some fresh, new and exciting textile designs, light displays and cute seats in the basement area of the Ikea store. We then learnt that the students at TAFE Enmore (most of my designer buddies graduated from here) won a design competition with IKEA and their work is currently on show at Ikea Tempe.

Students from Certificate III in Design Fundamentals, Certificate IV in Design, Diploma of Live Production Design, and Diploma of Graphic Design (Illustration) created eye-catching designs inspired by the IKEA brand and products

The exhibition will be open to the public from Thursday, 27 October, until the 21st of November 2022.

Harpertini Recycled Terry Towel

Trialing our colour ways with recycled terry towel was fun. The only challenging part, is deciding which colour!
